Bucsis notches 1st SIJHL goal in GM Ice Dogs win over Iron Rangers

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – Taylor-William Bucsis’ first Superior International Junior Hockey League goal, during a man advantage opportunity, with 6:52 remaining was the game-winner as the Dryden GM Ice Dogs edged the Minnesota Iron Rangers 3-2 on a snowy Friday evening at Hoyt Lakes Arena.

The game was late getting started by a half hour as the winter weather conditions delayed Dryden’s arrival to the venue in northern Minnesota.

Up a man in the first, Derek McPhail staked the GM Ice Dogs to the lead with the lone tally of the frame at 8:49.

The Iron Rangers drew level in the middle stanza as Logan Froberg scored on the power play for the home side as he notched his 13th marker of the season.

After Braeden Allkins put Dryden up 3-1 in the third period, Bucsis collected the decider at 13:08 with the visitors up a man.

Korey Muzzy brought Minnesota back to within one at 17:14, but that’s as close as they would get before time expired.

Ben Dennis turned in a solid 34-save performance to record the win for Dryden while Jackson Nelson faced 26 shots in defeat for the Iron Rangers.
