SIJHL announces suspensions

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham has announced the following suspensions resulting from two separate incidents during SIJHL Games No. 44, English River Miners @ Dryden GM Ice Dogs, played on Wednesday, Nov. 9 and No. 49, Thief River Falls Norskies @ Fort Frances Lakers on Saturday, Nov. 12:

CODY WARDNER, DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – THREE (3) GAMES

Wardner is suspended for his actions under rule 6.5 (d) after incurring a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for head contact in the third period of the contest against the Miners.

The player’s suspension is for the following games:

Game No. 48: Friday, Nov. 11 @ Thunder Bay (SERVED)
Game No. 50:  Saturday Nov. 12 @ Thunder Bay (SERVED)
Game No. 52:  Friday, Nov. 18, @ Minnesota

AUSTIN STORM, THIEF RIVER FALLS NORSKIES – TWO (2) GAMES

Storm is suspended for his actions under supplementary discipline for his violation of rule 6.2 (a) after incurring a major penalty for boarding and automatic game misconduct during the first period in the game vs. the Lakers.

The player’s suspension is for the following games:

SIJHL Game No. 45: Wednesday. Nov. 16 vs. Minnesota
SIJHL Game No. 54: Saturday, Nov. 19 vs. Dryden
